What will it take?
What will it take for us to actually step up to the plate and do what God has called us to do? God has made it clear to us that our mission is to let the world know who He is. It’s all over scripture: “Declare His glory to the nations” … “be my witnesses…to the ends of the earth” … “Make Disciples.” We are to make His name known from right here to the ends of earth.
So, what will it take? What will it take for us to stop talking about this? It is so easy for me and you to talk about our mission. It’s a whole different thing for us to actually tell people. It’s so much bigger to actually ask someone if you can pray for them, serve them, or share with them what God means to you.
So, what will it take? What will it take for us to realize that the power that can raise dead people from the grave is inside of us? God’s power is in us. We should be bold. We should know that no matter what God will be with us when we share who He is to the world. In fact, it’s His power that brings others to Himself. Our job is to be obedient and just talk, love, give, pray.
So, what will it take for us to be obedient to the call that He has placed on our lives? What will it take for you today as you sit and read this to get up from the computer and go out and ask your neighbor what is going on in their life and then ask them if you can pray for them this week. What will it take for you to get up from the computer and ask your co-worker to eat lunch with you and tell them about what you got out of the sermon on Sunday? What will it take for you to get off the computer and read a Bible Story to your kids? What will it take for you to get off the computer and call your brother, sister, friend or neighbor and invite them to church this Sunday?
